Atlas’ outdoor exposure sites provide a wide range static exposure testing for a variety of materials and end use conditions. Static (real-time) weathering testing capabilities include direct exposure using fixed or variable angle, backed or unbacked racks; indirect (under glass) exposure for interior materials; and black box exposure for paints and coating materials..

Atlas has pioneered outdoor accelerated testing since their development of the Trac Rac in the 1950s. Accelerated outdoor exposures are conducted with dedicated solar concentrators and can be direct or indirect IP/DP Box. These systems, generally equipped with mirrors or lenses, are able to multiply the effects of solar radiation.
